As the blessed month of Ramadan draws to close, it’s emerged that over three million worshipers, including Umrah pilgrims and visitors, attended Khatm Al-Qur’an prayers on Sunday, the 29th night of the holy month of Ramadan in Makkah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Gazette reports that the head of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, Sheikh Abdurahman Al-Sudais led the salaah in the Haram where more than two million people joined him.

Khatm Al-Qur’an  mark the conclusion of recitation of the whole Qur’an during night prayers of Taraweeh.

According to Saudi Gazette, both the Harams in Makkah and Medina were filled to capacity, including the courtyards and surrounding streets.

In the haram in Makkah, the gathering of worshipers was in the direct supervision of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, and personal follow up of Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and Deputy Emir Prince Badr Bin Sultan.

Sheikh Sudais made dua that Allah forgive all Muslims on the blessed night and save them from the Hellfire. He also made dua for the safeguarding the Kingdom, its leaders, as well as all Muslim countries from all evil and to provide them with safety, security and stability.

At the same time, more than one million worshippers attended Khatm Al-Qur’an prayers at Masjid-un-Nabawi in Madinah while tens of thousands of worshippers are performing itikaf both Holy Harams during the last ten days of Ramadan.
