Skyworth has proved that they aren’t just ready for the future, but in fact are the future.

The company launched their new range of Artificially Intelligent (AI) TVs at Emperor’s Palace on Thursday.

The new range of AI TV’s include the S9: OLED TV, Q3C: UHD TV, Q20: UHD TV, and the E20: FHD TV and KTV (Karaoke TV).

Skyworth’s new AI TV range can be controlled solely by the user’s voice. The AI TV range supports both Google Assistant and other smart home devices such as Amazon Alexa, turning your TV into your home’s control centre.

The spectacular S9 OLED TV which is only 3.6mm thin was highlighted as Skyworth’s flagship product at the conference.

OLED technology marks a vast improvement on older, flat panel displays like LEDs or LCDs, that rely heavily on backlights to illuminate their screens. In contrast, OLED TVs don’t require lights behind the pixels because these are able to light up on their own individually and, in turn, switch off completely when they’re supposed to appear black.

Skyworth’s General Manager Jeffrey Liu says Skyworth is a trusted brand.

“It’s a really hi-tech brand and it’s really worth it for the consumer to trust.  It’s easy for consumers to know how to use the TV because 80% of the people now use Android systems on smartphones. If you can use a smartphone, you can use an Android TV easily.”

The company which was formed in 1988 and is in existence for 31-years employs over a hundred and fifty local staff at it’s head office and more than one hundred at its factory.

Skyworth was the first brand to bring Android TV to South Africa, so it was a natural progression for Skyworth to also be the first to bring AI TV to the country
