The African National Congress’ (ANC) Jessie Duarte says they are encouraged by the elections results after South Africans voted in the 6th general elections on 8 May.
Duarte was speaking to Radio Islam International at the Tshwane results operation centre (ROC) on Thursday.
The deputy secretary general of the ANC also touched on double voting and President Cyril Ramaphosa drive to eradicate rampant corruption within the party and improve service delivery.
Duarte says the ANC is expected to continue leading many provinces.
“We’re confident that most of the province accept the Western Cape will come back to the ANC. Gauteng is still at 51%. We would like to see it go up by one or two more (percent).
Duarte says the ANC is one of three parties that lodged complaints with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to investigate double voting in the 2019 General Elections.
