With millions of Muslims expected to visit Saudi Arabia ahead of the blessed month of Ramadan which begins next week, the Head of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques Sheikh Abdurahman Al-Sudais has inspected the progress of the ongoing maintenance work at Maqam Ibrahim.
The Maqam Ibrahim which is closed to the Ka’ba refers to the stone on which the Prophet Ibrahim (AS) stood on while he built the Kaaba along with his son Prophet Ismail (AS).
Sheikh Sudais urged maintenance workers to complete the task before Ramadan, which witnesses the peak annual Umrah season.
As of Thursday more than 5 million pilgrims arrived in the Kingdom to perform Umrah.
At the same time the Kingdom has released a schedule of the Khateebs that will be performing Taraweeh and Tahajjud salaah in Makhah.
The blessed month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar is expected to commence on Sunday or Monday next week, depending on the sighting of the crescent.
