Imam of the haram and president of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques in Saudi Arabia says the Muslim community is distinguished from other communities by their respect for one another’s rights and patience, and cooperating on righteousness and piety.

Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais was delivering the sermon in the haram in Makkah on Friday.

He says Muslims are all shepherds and responsible for their flock.

“Be young, as much as this responsibility. Starting with yourselves: your hearts and your souls, your spirits and your minds, your knowledge and your work, your worship and your transactions.”

Sheikh Sudais says young people have responsibilities and duties towards Islam, their countries and their communities.

“Some of them are devotion to Allah in saying and acting, and as a young man takes care of the safety of his body and appearance, he also takes care of the safety of his heart and soul.”

Sheikh Sudais quoted a hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in which the messenger of Allah said: “That one of those who Allah will keep in his shadow is a day in which there is no shadow but His shadow.” – Ibn Mas’ood may Allah be pleased with him.
