Motorists will have to dig deeper into their pockets after the Energy Department announced that the price of all grades of petrol will increase by 74 cents a litre from Wednesday.

The prices of different grades of diesel go up by 91 cent (for 0.05% sulphur) and 93 cents (0.005% sulphur) per litre while illuminating paraffin will decreases by 76 cents per litre.

The price of LP gas decreases by R 1.01 per kg.

The En department says the main reasons for the fuel price adjustments are due to higher Brent Crude oil prices during the period under review including the Rand appreciating on average, against the US Dollar.

South Africa’s fuel prices are adjusted on a monthly basis, informed by international and local factors.
