Protest Over Mass Executions In Egypt

February 22, 2019

Radio Islam International – 2019/02/22

An Egyptian Human Rights Activist says the nine men who were executed on Wednesday morning in a Cairo prison were innocent and victims of the Sisi regime.

The nine men were convicted of killing one of Egypt’s top prosecutors.

However, Shaykh Sultan Yusuf told Radio Islam that the Egyptian justice system is fundamentally flawed.

“There is no law, we are a country that is offline, there is no law, anyone can go to jail, and anyone can get any sentence to be in jail for no reason.”

The nine people were put to death a day after rights group Amnesty International had called on Egypt to halt the executions.

Shaykh Yusuf says a protest will be taking place outside the Jaamiah masjid in Lenasia after Jumu’ah salaah today – to send a strong message to those causing mayhem and injustice in Egypt.
