Aid organisation Gift of the Givers is delivering over 150 000 litres of bottled water to drought stricken Makhanda in the Eastern Cape.
The Municipality says it’s in dire need of water due to the drought with the Settlers Dam currently only 11% full.
Gift of the Givers says that six trucks with bottled water are en route to Makhanda.
Founder Imtiaaz Sooliman says the area found itself without water for six days.
“The water plants are not working, the dams are almost empty, there’s a serious crisis here.”
