Police are investigating a case murder and attempted murder after a worshiper was killed and bystander wounded during a shooting at a mosque in Mayfair.
It’s understood the 40-year-old man coming from the mosque on Tuesday night when he was accosted by two unknown suspects who shot him before fleeing the scene.
The police’s Lungelo Dlamini says the motive for the shooting is being investigated.
“A man was coming from the mosque was attacked by two unknown suspects. He was shot at. When he went back to the mosque he was followed by these suspects and shot. He died at the scene. One civilian was also wounded in the neck and he has been taken to the hospital.”
Dlamini says no one has been arrested.
