Police are investigating a case house robbery and murder after a 45-year-old man was shot and killed in Zakariyya Park, south of Johannesburg.
It’s understood Shiraaz Salloo’s was killed in apparent house robbery in the early hours of this morning.
According to police, Salloo’s wife was responding to a call for help from neighbours when she was accosted by the suspects.
Police say the suspects fled the scene with jewellery and a cellphone.
Spokesperson Kalipaha Mvula says no arrests have yet been made.
“The victims allegedly heard two gunshots going off. The suspects allegedly returned and took the wife back to her house and upon entering, the wife found her 45-year-old husband’s body lying in a pool of blood and the man unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crime.”
Mvula has appealed to anyone with information about the incident to contact the police.
