Land Invaders Dig Foundations in Lenasia

October 28, 2018

Umm Muhammed Umar – 27-10-2018

The land grabs that have been taking place in extension 13, Lenasia, South of Johannesburg, have taken a new twist.

Land invaders have allegedly been digging foundations for houses on a piece of land reportedly demarcated for a playground on the corner of Heliodor and Citroen streets.

Extension 13 residents of all races have been coming together each evening in a community initiative to refill the dug foundations.

They have put up posters to let it be known that the area has been demarcated for a park.

The last foundation had been refilled last night.

Residents say land grabbers appeared this morning again but left after they found that residents were there first, it being a Saturday.

They have called on all residents of Lenasia to support them in their endeavour to reclaim the area for their children, by providing man power, steel for soccer poles, and tyres to cordon off the area.
