ACSA Confirms to Radio Islam Muslim Prayers Facilities at Airports Won’t be Closed

October 15, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 15-10-2018

The Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) has confirmed to Radio Islam a message being circulated on social media that if Muslim prayer facilities at airports are not used they will be closed down is fake news.

The message was widely circulated on social media with many travellers concerned they wouldn’t have a facility to pray while at the airport.

ACSA’s Leigh Gunkel-Keuler says the messages being circulated on social media are not true.

“This is fake news. There’s no basis for this development. Our position as the airport remains the same. We welcome that our Muslim community continues to make use of our prayer facilities at the airport.”
