Rand Water Urges Consumers to Use Water Sparingly Due to Constraints

October 11, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 11-10-2018

Rand Water has urged consumers in Gauteng to use water sparingly as supply may be constrained due to technical problem at one of its facilities.

The utility says that due to technical challenges, the capacity at one of the main engine rooms has been reduced by about 20-percent.

Rand Water’s Justice Mohale says with temperatures expected to rise from tomorrow throughout the area of supply, they appeal to consumers to use water wisely to alleviate the pressure on the reduced capacity.

“We would like to urge consumers to use water sparingly because we had some technical challenges in one of our main engine rooms. We hope by tomorrow we may have fixed the problem.”
