October 08, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 08-10-2018

Joburg Mayor Herman Mashaba says working with the youth is working with the future of the South Africa.

Mashaba was speaking at the 15th anniversary of the Miss Earth leadership programme, an environmental journey to change the world in which Lenasia’s Nazia Wadee was elected the new ambassador.

The organisation advocates that united, South Africans can green, grow and change the waste and poverty challenges in country.

The organisation thanked Mashaba saying he has spoken his words into action with the Aresebetseng project.

Mashaba says the Aresebetseng project in the City of Joburg was born after he was invited to assist in cleaning up a Soweto park.

He says the youth have a very important role to play in preserving the environment.

“If you can work with the youth, you’re working with the future of the country. So I can only really wish them strength, and really wish them everything of the best and hope that they can touch the lives of every citizen, not only in Johannesburg, all over the country if not the world.”
