MMC Urges Residents of Soweto To Not Take The Law In To Their Own Hands

August 30, 2018

Mohamed Ameen Dabhelia – 2018/08/30

Johannesburg MMC for Safety and Security Michael Sun has urged residents of Soweto not to take the law in to their own hands.

This after three people died following looting and violent attacks on foreign owned shops in the area.

The destruction was fuelled by claims that foreign-owned shops were selling expired or hazardous food.

Sun was speaking to Radio Islam where he said that the relevant authorities will deal with the situation.

“It’s a situation where we cannot tolerate incidents being used to hide any criminal activities such as the looting we have seen.”
