At least a thousand people from the different African National Congress (ANC) regional branches in Mpumalanga are expected to march to Luthuli House in Johannesburg calling for the disbanding of the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC).
It’s understood the march on Monday aims to call on the Secretary General of the ANC Ace Magashule to disband the PEC structure of Mpumalanga to renew the organization and get it back to its original values.
The group is expected to hand over a memorandum of demands to ANC officials at Luthuli House.
ANC councillor from Ward 40 in Mpumalanga Mohammed Phiri says disbanding the PEC will mean renewing and starting over on a cleaner slate and getting the ANC back to the people, where it belongs.
“The ANC in Mpumalanga has been marred by factionalism, gate keeping and slate politics to mention but a few things which have crippled it to the core.”
Phiri says they will institute court action if Magashule fails to disband the PEC.
