[LISTEN] Samsung Innovates with New QLED TV’s

July 31, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 31-07-2018

Samsung has launched what is possibly the best TV in South Africa.

The Korean technology company unveiled its 2018 range of QLED TV’s at Fine Living Parkmore, Sandton on Tuesday.

Samsung says it will bring nine models into South Africa, which includes the 7, 8, and 9 Series with screen sizes starting at 55 inches. A curved model is only available on the 8 series 65 inch.

The new, 5-star rated and award-winning QLED TV has a sleek metal frame and myriad options for installation, from No Gap Wall-mount to an array of stylish stands, the QLED features a One Invisible Connection – this combines the AV and power lines along with the cables of peripheral devices, through the One Connect Box.

The One Invisible Connection is an innovative first and comes in a standard 5 meter length power cord, which can be extended by a further 15 metres. The cable is transparent so the connections and cables simply disappear.

The QLED TV also features Ambient Mode which creates a sense of spatial consistency by enabling the TV screen to seamlessly blend with the wall or space behind it.

Instead of a black rectangle when it’s turned off, the TV can be set up to play music, display information like the weather or news headlines, family photographs, a favourite work of art, or simply the wallpaper.

With the highly advanced quantum dot technology in play, Samsung says burn-in won’t ever be an issue, even if a static image is left on the screen for hours on end, there won’t ever be a shadow of that image when you switch over.

Samsung also introduced its Signature Service, which sees an installer arrive at your home with the TV to help get it mounted on the wall or positioned on a stand, connect it to the necessary decoders, streaming devices, game consoles, sound bars and others devices users may have, clean-up afterwards and leave.

Chief Marketing Officer for Samsung South Africa Justin Hume says, the company focuses on innovating and not complicating.

“We’ve really stripped everything that got in the way of you getting that perfect picture quality and into getting the absolute maximum out of your television set.”

The new QLED TV is available from Wednesday with pricing starting form R22,000 for the entry-level 55 inch and over R100, 000 for the 82 inch models.

Samsung is also offering sound bars, including a R1,000 Google Play voucher for movies to customers who buy one of the new devices in the first few weeks after the launch.
