A 54-year-old businessman has been killed in a robbery in Orkney in the North West.
It’s understood three armed criminals entered Imtiaz Bata’s clothing shop on Monday demanding cash.
Police say the suspects fired one shot at Bata who died on the scene.
Spokesperson Elize Kruger says police are investigating a case of business robbery and murder.
“Three unknown suspects entered the clothing store in Orkney. They fired one shot to the owner of the business, Imtiaz Bata. He died on the scene and then the people fled with an unknown amount of money.”
Kruger says a task team has been formed to investigate the incident.
