Mohamed Ameen Dabhelia – 2018/07/04

The world’s youngest journalist and Palestinian rights activist, Janna Jihad Ayyad is in South Africa on a tour as the ambassador for South African human rights NGO Shamsaan.

Speaking to Radio Islam, Jihad says she decided to become a journalist at the age of seven.

“There were not enough journalists covering the story, my family got killed, the world didn’t know our feelings and how children are living.”

Earlier this year, she was officially registered as the youngest press card-carrying member of the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate.

Jihad says her dream is for the people of Palestine to live in peace and freedom and to have equality.
