Muslim goldsmith takes teaching to new level

May 21, 2018

Thahir Asmal, Radio Islam News – 21-05-2018

A Muslim goldsmith in Macedonia has revealed how he share his knowledge of Islam by teaching Quran while working.

Necmedin Bushi, whose small workshop is in the capital Skopje, offers the lessons to people from all walks of life, while moulding his gold.

He told the Anadolu Agency that his father always wanted one of his children to become hafiz, but none were able to fulfil the wish.

Bushi, who himself learnt Quran at the Alaca Mosque, views teaching as a debt towards those who invested in his education and counts it as a second job.

“The children (I have taught) are 7, 8, and 9 years old and the oldest one was 59 years old.”

Bushi teaches only a few each year due to time constraints, but over time, he has helped more than 50 students to read the Quran fluently.

Muslims in the Balkan country represent one-third of the nation’s total population and is growing all the time.
