Jamiat SA: Israel Bent on Annihilating Palestinian People

May 14, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 14-05-2018

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa says the continuing dehumanization of Palestinians, the denial of their human rights and extra‐judicial killings and massacres, cannot be allowed to continue with the levels of impunity of the Zionist occupation.

Jamiat SA was responding to the latest onslaught by Israel on Monday in which At least 43 Palestinians were killed and more than 1,900 others wounded after the army fired live ammunition, teargas and firebombs at protesters assembled along several points near the fence with Israel.

The demonstrations, which coincided with protests against the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem, are part of a weeks-long protest calling for the right of return for Palestinian refugees to the areas they were forcibly expelled from in 1948.

In a statement, Jamiatul Ulama Secretary General Moulana Ebrahim Bham says the attacks is a continuing story of an occupying force, bent at annihilating an occupied people, whose only plea to the world is a return to what is their land.

“The reward to this ‘rogue‐state’ conduct by Israel, from the Trump Administration, in spite of vehement opposition and international consensus against the move, is today’s ill‐advised and much‐publicised scheduled opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem, effectively recognising the city as the exclusive capital of the ‘Jewish State of Israel.’

Ml Bham says no matter how long it takes, Palestinians will never yield and surrender to the kind of posturing and aggression that greet every legitimate form of resistance to the occupation.

“Activists across the globe and all those who have supported the Palestinians cause in their quest for freedom, also know very well that only justice brings about durable peace.”

Ml Bham has also expressed the Jamiats support towards the Palestinian Solidarity Committee together with all other supporters of the Palestinian people, in the objectives of the scheduled march and rally in Cape Town on Tuesday.
