Tehran University Professor, Mohammad Marandi told Radio Islam that Iran is too powerful for the United States to wage a war with.
“Iran is a very large country, it has a very large population, the United States is a tired country because they’ve been fighting wars for almost two decades now on a regular basis in this region.”
Professor Marandi says the US is economically declining compared to its rivals.
“Then of course, Iran has many powerful allies across the region, in neighbouring countries, which would make the US vulnerable.”
He adds that if there is a war, the world will experience a global economic catastrophe.
“All the oil and gas facilities in the Persian – Gulf would be damaged, so I don’t think the US contemplates this seriously.”
