Democratic Alliance (DA) Federal Chair Athol Trollip says the African National Congress (ANC) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have conspired to reject Nelson Mandela Bays adjustment budget to stop the party from delivering essential services to residents.
Trollip was speaking during the opening of the DA’s Federal Congress at the Pretoria Showgrounds on Saturday.
The DA is electing the top six leaders who will lead the party into the country’s all-important 2019 general elections.
Trollip says despite the ANC and EFFs attempts to remove him and his staff, they hold their heads high and continue to work for the people of Nelson Mandela Bay.
“With Julius Malema in their pocket, Ramaphosa’s ANC is set on overshadowing this new beginning. They will stop at nothing to return to power in Nelson Mandela Bay – bringing with them the chaos and corruption of the old ANC administration.”
Trollip says he believe the Coalition government has succeeded in disproving the propaganda that the DA would replace people of a certain race with others of another race and that apartheid would be reintroduced.
