February 22, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 22-02-2018

The Home Affairs Department has confirmed  an inspection was conducted at the studios of former Gupta-owned ANN7 television station in Midrand.

In a statement the department says it visited the studios on Thursday to verify information related to the visas of Indian nationals employed at ANN7.

It says part of its mandate, is to undertake regular inspections on the basis of information provided to them.

The department says it will release the findings once it has conducted a full investigation on the documentation of Indian nationals working at ANN7

ANN7 was started by the Gupta family, along with newspaper The New Age.

In January broadcaster Multichoice took a decision not to renew its contract with ANN7 when it expires in August due to “ongoing controversies”.
