Zuma Family Apologises, Says First Lady’s Instagram Post Unfortunate & Regrettable

February 09, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 09-02-2018

As the country waits with anticipation for an announcement on President Jacob Zuma’s future, his family has apologised for an Instagram post by his wife Thobeka Madiba-Zuma as unfortunate and regrettable.

Madiba-Zuma whose husband’s future in the Presidency is uncertain, on Friday finally broke her silence warning that that it was going to get rough and that Zuma will finish what he started as he takes no orders from the Atlantic Ocean.

In a statement, President Zuma’s son Edward says the post was ill-timed and potentially damaging and the family could scarcely hide its disappointment.

“No amount of words can express our disappointment. It is for this reason that we have decided to issue this statement of apology.”

Edward says the family remains committed towards the project of nation building and expresses their confidence in the African National Congress (ANC) leadership elected to ensure that the party remains what it calls a vehicle to build the nation.
