City Power Apologises for Joburg Power Outages, Says its Investigating

City Power has apologised to customers following power outages that affected most parts of Johannesburg last night.

Residents of the East and South of Joburg experienced an unplanned outage for several hours on Monday evening prompting the power utility to send its technicians to these areas.

City Power has confirmed that electricity has been fully restored in all areas that were affected by the interruptions.

Spokesperson Sol Masolo says they are looking into the cause of power outages.

“We apologise to all customers that were inconvenienced by the power interruption. Now that we’ve restored power as quick as possible, what we are going to be doing now is to looking into what the cause may have been.”
