Joburg Water Confirms Water Interruptions Scheduled for Lenasia

January 12, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 12-01-2018

Johannesburg Water has confirmed that services in Lenasia will be interrupted from 8pm on Friday until 4am Saturday.

The utility says they are currently experiencing high demand in Lenasia and surrounding areas as the results of high lying areas feeding from Lenasia High Level reservoir.

It says areas such as Zakariyya Park, portion of Lehae and Vlakfontein are currently experiencing low pressures due to the high usage of water in Lenasia.

Spokesperson Isaac Dhludhlu has urged the community of Lenasia to use water sparingly.

“We have received reports from our Ennerdale depot his afternoon that there was a high consumption in the Lenasia Area which affected supply to Zakariyya Park area. What they are doing now is to shut down the services tonight at 8 o’ clock until 4 o’ clock in the morning.”

Dhludhlu says residents should also report any burst pipes and water leakages to Joburg Water.
