WhatsApp Plans to Roll Out New Features

December 12, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 12-12-2017

Messaging platform WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called Reply Privately which allows users to respond to messages privately, without anyone but the person they are messaging being able to see what’ been typed.

WABetaInfo reports the Reply Privately option, which will only be an option inside group chats, will live inside the menu bubble that pops up when a user taps and holds a message.

When a user selects Reply Privately, WhatsApp will automatically launch a one-on-one chat with the person whose message they want to reply to.

When a reply is sent, their message from the group chat will appear as a quote.

The Facebook owned messaging service has also developed picture-in-picture (PIP) mode for videos sent through WhatsApp.

PIP mode lets users play videos directly inside the messaging app, in a floating window they can move and resize.

The PIP mode ensures that the selected video or a video chat appears as a new window with what looks like a newer user interface from WhatsApp.

WhatsApp is also looking to add a feature where a user can just tap on someone’s name to unblock a person.

The features are yet to be rolled out to users as they are still in development.
