Mandela, speaking to a packed audience says Madiba was firm in his belief that South Africa’s freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinian people.

“Today he remains a hero for every Palestinian child on every road that we walked, they chanted his name. I call upon you to never forget then struggle for the liberation of the Palestinian people.”

Mandela also pledged his support for the people of Kashmir.

“I know that the course of self-determination to the people of Kashmir is very close to your hearts. We support you in that, just as my grandfather Nelson Mandela did.”
