A 44-year-old woman has been arrested after South African Revenue officials caught her with foreign and local currency worth R6,2 Million at King Shaka International Airport
It’s understood the woman was removed from her flight before it departed for Dubai yesterday.
In a statement SARS Sandile Memela says the woman was busted in joint intervention between the revenue service and the South African Police Service (SAPS).
“The passenger in question was departing to Dubai when SARS’ Detector Dog Unit conducted a baggage search, and one of the detector dogs reacted positively to the passenger’s luggage. A scan revealed images consistent with currency.”
