Police say they are investigating the origin of a voice note claiming that an unspecified security union will hold mass protests against white people tomorrow.
This audio message has been widely circulated on social media site WhatsApp.
In the recording, a man who calls himself Pastor Andre translates a message from the so called union claiming that it’s threatened to kill all white people in the country as part of the alleged protests.
Andre says tomorrow alleged action is in response to Black Monday which saw thousands protesting farm killings in the country.
The police ministry’s Vuyo Mhaga has urged South Africans not to panic.
“Police will be on the alert while it’s investigating the voice note and its originality and exactly what is at play.”
