iStore South Africa has announced the new iPhone 8 & 8 Plus will officially go on sale from the 20th of October.
However there may be a muted response to Apple’s new smartphone as many would be waiting for the iPhone X (10).
Apple unveiled the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus last month on the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone at Apples new 1,000-seat Steve Jobs Auditorium in the company’s newly-built “space ship” campus.
It also unveiled its much-anticipated iPhone X (10), a glass and stainless steel device with an edge-to-edge display and wireless charging.
The new iPhone 8 feature Apple’s first proprietary graphics processor, the A11 Bionic chip which provides greater speed, improved cameras and some features for augmented reality apps.
The iStore has also announced two unique offers in celebration of iPhone’s 10th anniversary which includes Free iCare Plus and the double trade In for South Africans that buy the new iPhone 8.
Free iCare Plus – The first customers that upgrade to the new iPhone 8 at iStore can get its 2-year extended warranty product, which includes screen repair coverage and normally sells for R1499, absolutely free.
Double Trade in – Also, customers can now trade in not only one, but two qualifying iOS products towards the upgrade of a new iPhone 8.
iStore says the offers are only available at the store and are valid for cash purchases which haven’t been confirmed yet, , on contract (upgrades) from most of the country’s networks or with the iStore Card payment plan.
iStore has given no indication of when the iPhone X will be available in South Africa but Apple as announced that iPhone X pre-orders will begin on 27 October, with shipping to begin 3 November.
