Rohingya Crisis Catastrophic & Beyond Comprehension

September 21, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 21-09-2017

The Al-Imdaad Foundation says the magnitude of the Rohingya crisis is catastrophic and beyond comprehension.

The NGO is currently in Bangladesh on a humanitarian mission to distribute much needed aid to Rohingya Muslims.

Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya refugees have streamed into Bangladesh since the end of August, cramming into ill-equipped camps and makeshift shelters near the border town of Cox’s Bazar.

Aid groups have been overwhelmed by the scope of the influx and warned of an unfolding humanitarian crisis in the camps, where they are struggling to build housing and provide food rations.

Ml Sulaiman Moola who’s travelling with the Al-Imdaad Foundation says it’s difficult to fathom the plight of the Rohingya Muslims especially women who have young children.

“My mothers when you cuddle you child, cuddle them with love and appreciate the bond that Allah has given you. I swear by Allah, I’ve seen hundreds, nay thousands of mothers latching their children on modestly, but standing on the side of the road when its pouring and it raining. The mum has no shoes. In fact shoes is a privilege here.”

Ml Moola says it’s extremely difficult to convey the feelings of desire and the expression of hope of the Rohingya Muslims and urged South Africans to continue donating to the Rohingya cause including remembering them in their duas.
