Palestinian Activist Janna Jihad Urges South Africans to be the Voice of Palestine

July 26, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 26-07-2017

An 11-year old Palestinian activist has urged young South Africans to spread the truth about the injustices of Palestine under Israeli occupation because the truth does not have a tongue.

Janna Jihad and two other young activists, 16-year-old Ahd Tamimi and 12-year-old Muhammad Nawajah are in South Africa to create awareness about the plight of Palestinians.

The group of children is being hosted by Ahmed Kathrada Foundation and Shamsaan amongst others as part of the Children of Palestine “Pals4Peace” tour.

They were at the Baitun Noor Hall in Lenasia today where they addressed the pupils of the Al Aqsa School which was named after Masjid-al-Aqsa in Palestine.

Janna Jihad who wants to be a journalist says people should share the reality of what is happening in Palestine at the hands of the Israeli’s.

She says there is a lot that Palestine has in common with South African history and that citizens of this country can be the voice of Palestine.

“I am asking hand to hand to make this world a world of peace, a world of love, a world of comedy. To abide by boycotting Israeli products because it goes to Israel and they make weapons and kill Palestinians.”

At the same time speaking through a translator, Ahd Tamimi says the Palestinian issue is violation of human rights by the Israeli’s.

“I hope my message will touch your hearts because we are the generation to libertate and free Palestine. We believe that if the Israeli occupation continue, the suffering all over the world will continue.”

The young activists have echoed the message of late president Nelson Mandela who said “South Africa will never be free until Palestine is free.”
