Are you suffering from smartphone addiction?
Smartphones have become a key part of modern life, but for many of us, we have reached a point of becoming dependent on them.
Here are the symptoms:
You probably suffer from Nomophobia (No Mobile Phonephobia) and you don’t even know.
Shocked?
Nomophobia is the fear of being without your smartphone.
Messages, likes, and followers from social networks make users feel good which increases the level of dopamine, a natural chemical released by neurons to send signals to other nerve cells in the brain.
Because it feels so good our brains want more and our smartphone addiction grows. It’s almost like being hooked on drugs.
Our obsession with smartphones is a good example of what has been referred to as the “paradox of technology.”
The modern smartphone can free us to do things in places only dreamed of 20 years ago, but they also, in certain ways, enslave us.
Has smartphone use reached a tipping point, where it’s crossed the line from beneficial tool to detriment?
It’s your call.
