June 29, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 29-06-2017

Award winning Radio Islam International producer Ejaz Khan says being listed as a top young South African is an honour and very humbling experience.

Khan who produces International content for Radio Islam’s morning breakfast and afternoon drive time programmes has been included on the Mail & Guardian’s list of “Top 200 Young South Africans” for 2017.

Each year the Mail & Guardian profiles interesting young people who have stood out from the pack and have shown themselves to be leaders and what to look forward to in the country’s future.

Khan says he was nominated in the media category by Media Review Networks (MRN) Dr. Ayesha Soni.

He says the selection process was extremely rigorous.

“Alhamdulillah it’s remarkable to be with this remarkable group of people and I always felt that Allah has special things in line for me. It feels awesome and I’m just so glad to be able to represent the Muslim community and listenership of Radio Islam and indeed of Radio Islam itself”

Khan has thanked Dr. Sony for nominating him

“Alhamdulillah also for her efforts, see how wonderful it worked out, she was also nominated in the health category and she is also part of the young 200 as well.”

A number of other Muslims also made it on the Mail  & Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans list including a former employee of Radio Islam Tahir Sema from the South African Local Government Association (Salga) and Dr. Ayesha Omar amongst others.
