A renowned Islamic scholar has told Radio Islam that the Cape Storm is a phenomenon he never experienced in his life before.
The city of Cape Town is being lashed by the most severe storm in decades with High wind speeds of up to 90km/h or higher and rainfall of up to 50mm in certain areas.
Islamic Scholar Mufti Ismail Menk says the weather conditions have been quite severe, with the later part of the night experiencing heavy winds and lots of rain.
“Masha’Allah. Alhamdulillah, we thank Allah SWT, the rain is much needed, although I think the wind and all that, we ask Allah SWT to protect us from the adverse effects of it Insha’Allah.”
Cape Town has been making headlines following a crippling drought with the City being declared a disaster area by Premier Helen Zille
Menk is currently on tour in the mother city, leading the taraweeh prayers and conducting part two of his ‘Save Yourself’ series at Masjidul Quds in Rylands Estate for the month of Ramadhaan.
