Radio Islam Programming – 25 April 2017

‘The Big Picture’ falls part of Radio Islam’s breakfast show, Sabaahul Muslim. The award-winning segment, which features Abu Bakr Dawjee (more commonly known as AB Dawjee) of KZN, airs on Friday mornings between 8 and 9 am.

Dawjee gives the listeners an alternate perspective on various local and international issues that affects the Ummah. His ability to come across in a humorous yet thought provoking manner has made the feature a great success. With the main focus on politics, social issues are sometimes touched on when it affects the community.

Being a man that travels often, AB Dawjee also shares his travel experiences with the listeners. The programme has now become a favourite for many of the Radio Islam listeners. To cap off his weekly feature, Dawjee always shares a few jokes at the end of the slot.

In the latest edition of the segment, Dawjee shared some history on Bosnia, a country that he recently visited. He spoke about the country’s historic war and the atrocities that its people have been through. He also focused on Bashaar Al Asad and his crimes against humanity (Syria). Mention was also made of US president Donald Trump. Even though AB’s discussion on Trump made everyone laugh, it no doubt left all with something to think about.

*Laddoo – an indian sweetmeat often used to refer to someone that is foolish or insignificant.
