Joburg Water has confirmed that water restrictions in the Gauteng province has officially been lifted after it was published in the government gazette.
According to Joburg Water the integrated Vaal River System has reached over 95% of capacity.
Spokesperson Sputnik Ratau says while the restrictions have been lifted, residents should continue to save water as the country is still experiencing drought conditions.
“Water restrictions in the province have been lifted. We has said that once he integrated Vaal River system reaches 75% we would review the issue of water restrictions in Gauteng and that is where we are now.”
