Paramedics Rescue Newborn Baby Left in the Rain in Witbank

February 21, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 21-02-2017

Paramedics have rescued a one-day-old baby after the newborn was found in the rain next to the Puma Stadium in Witbank.

It’s understood a security guard had been patrolling the area next to the stadium where the baby had been found and notified emergency services.

ER24’s Annine Dormehl says it’s believed that the baby was born in a hospital, but there was no form of identification left with her.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the baby suffering of hypothermia. It is believed that the little girl was left alone in the rain for two to three hours. ER24 Paramedics immediately changed the baby into dry clothes to get her temperature back to normal and then transported her to Emalahleni Private hospital.

Dormehl says the hospital will be notifying the police of the incident.
