The Energy Department has announced that the price of petrol (both 93 and 95) is expected to increase by 29 cents per litre from Wednesday the 1st of February.
The price of diesel will rise by 21 centre per litre while Paraffin will cost 17cents a litre more.
Users of LP gas will fork out 21 cents more per kilogramme.
The department made the announcement on Friday.
Spokesperson Robert Maake says the price increase is due to the international price of brent crude oil.
“It’s mainly due to the higher crude oil prices. However, we have seen the strengthening of the rand against the US dollar which cushioned the prices by 12 cents per litre.”
