The North Gauteng High Court has ordered public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane to release the state capture report by no later than 5pm today.
This comes after President Jacob Zuma’s Advocate Anthea Platt was instructed to withdraw his application to interdict the release of the state capture report.
“My instructions are further not to oppose the scale of the costs and we abide the decision of this honourable court in relation to those costs.”
On Tuesday, Gauteng Judge President Dunstan Mlambo struck off the roll Co-operative Governance Minister Des Van Rooyen’s application to interdict the report for lack of urgency.
The report compiled by former Public Prosecutor Thuli Madonsela is believed to expose alleged improper and unethical conduct by Zuma and several ministers related to alleged improper relationships with the Gupta family.
The state capture report was meant to be released on her last day in office on October 14.
