President Jacob Zuma’s legal team has withdrawn his application to interdict the release of the public protector Thuli Madonsela’s report into state capture.
The full bench of the High Court in Pretoria had been set to hear arguments by Zuma, along with Ministers Des van Rooyen and Mosebenzi Zwane in the urgent interdict case which was to determine if the report is released to the public.
Zwane’s application is set to be heard next week, while van Rooyen application was scrapped from the roll.
Jacob Zuma’s Advocate Anthea Platt confirmed her instructions to withdraw the president application.
“My instructions are further not to oppose the scale of the costs and we abide the decision of this honourable court in relation to those costs.”
At same time the Democratic Alliance (DA) lodged an urgent application to force current public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane to release the state capture report
