Ulama Forum in Lenasia to Discuss Crisis Affecting Ummah

At least a thousand Muslim scholars are expected to attend the Southern Africa Ulama Forum in Lenasia.

The forum which is held every two years will take place at the Nur-ul-Islam Masjid this weekend.

During the forum Muslim delegates deliberate on many issues including the crisis facing the Muslim population in South Africa and across the world.

Delegates from across the region including Zimbabwe, Botswana, Malawi and Mozambique amongst others are expected to attend.

Spokesperson Moulana Sulaiman Ravat said: “It is a great honour for Jamiatul Ulama South Africa and for the community of Lenasia to be hosting this Southern Africa Ulama Forum which likely to be the largest.” We request the dua’s of everyone for a successful and a constructive conference that will have great benefit for the Ummah Insha’Allah.”

Speakers at the forum will include renowned scholar Moulana Sulaiman Moola, Ml. Abdul Aziz Maluleke from Soweto, Mufti Shabier Menk from Zimababwe, The secretary general of the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa Ml Ebrahim Bham and Ml Taha Karan from Cape Town amongst many others.
