The SA Weather Service has dispelled rumours of a heatwave in Gauteng.
Reports have emerged that most parts of the City of Johannesburg will receive persistent high temperatures throughout this week with the mercury expected to peak at over 40 degrees.
Forecaster Kgolofelo Mahlangu says the weather service is assessing and monitoring the temperatures.
“At the moment there isn’t a heatwave around Gauteng. For Pretoria they are expected to be just above the threshold about 35 degrees for 3 consecutive days starting from Friday and for Johannesburg it’s about 32/33 degrees for three consecutive days that we are looking at.”
