Anti-Visa Fee Committee to Meet DIRCO over Umrah Visa Fees

The Anti Visa Fee Committee SA (AVC SA) says a delegation from the newly formed group will be meeting senior officials of the Department of International Relations and Co-operation (DIRCO) in Pretoria tomorrow.

The committee says it has been mandated by the Muslim community in South Africa to raise concerns about the exorbitant visa fees.

Co-Chair Yusuf Abramjee says they are the grateful to DIRCO for meeting them at short notice.

“Please continue to make Dua for success. We have also taken note of reports that the Umrah season has opened for on-line registrations in SA with an excessive visa cost of 2,000 Riyals after your first umrah every three years.”

Abramjee says they are in the process of confirming details and will provide full updates one certain issues have been clarified and after the meeting.
