Radio Islam & Listeners Make a Difference to the Lives of Orphans

October 12, 2016

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 12-10-2016

The Florida Baby House in Florida west of Johannesburg has thanked Radio Islam and it’s listeners for making a difference to the lives of orphans.

Radio Islam’s sisters embarked on journey to the facility yesterday to highlight the human stories from the orphanage and also spread love, happiness, joy and aid to the little ones that need it most.

Supporters of Radio Islam opened their hearts and donated cash, nappies, blankets, formula and even soft toys to the babies at the orphanage in a project initiated by the radio station.

The Florida Baby Houses’ Joan Drotszky says the items donated by listeners and Radio Islam will go a long way in assisting them to look after the children.

“I want to tell the community that and your listener’s thank you so much. Everything makes a difference, even if it’s just a bar of soap. All the love, all the help everything makes a difference, it makes it better life for these children in the future.”

At least 3,500 children are abandoned in South Africa annually and news of yet another child found dead wrapped in a plastic bag, thrown from a building, discarded in a rubbish bin or even flushed down a toilet always elicits strong public condemnation and emotion.
