Police are searching for a group of suspects after an attempted hijacking in Mayfair in Johannesburg.
Johannesburg Metro Police came across a hijacking on the corner of Hanover and Delft Avenue yesterday.
The JMPD’s Wayne Minnaar says the incident is under investigation.
“One suspect was in the process of pulling out the driver from a silver Audi when he started shooting at the officers and the officers returned fire. One officer was shot in the left hand and the suspects managed to escape from the scene.”
Minnaar says no arrest have been made and the wounded officer is in a stable condition at the Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg.
