One school pupil has been killed and another seriously injured after they were knocked down by a car in Starling Street in Lenasia South.
Police say the learners aged between 7 and 8 from a local school in the area allegedly ran in front of the oncoming vehicle this afternoon without checking if the road was safe to cross.
The police’s Kalipha Mvula says they are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
“The police received a complaint of a two learners who had been knocked down. On their arrival they found one the learners unfortunately was declared late on the scene and the other one he was ruched to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital to receive advanced medical treatment.”
