President Jacob Zuma Condemns The Recent Violent Protests

June 28, 2016

Mohamed Ameen Dabhelia – 2016-06-28

President Jacob Zuma says there can be no justification for violence and anarchy by those who seek to destabilise the country’s freedom.

Zuma was addressing the nation in an exclusive address earlier this morning.

He says that the violence and the destruction of property that has taken place in the country during protests are unacceptable.

“Every South African has the right to protest, but this must be done peacefully in line with the constitution.”

He says government will continue to build schools, clinics, libraries, community halls and other amenities to improve the lives of the South African people and reverse the legacy of apartheid.

“Communities should protect the public facilities which are built to improve their quality of life.”

Zuma says that those who destroy public facilities and who want to take our country backwards must be reported to the police.

He ended his address by calling for all South Africans to promote peace and order in their communities to move the country forward.
